Good luck, Dan, and thanks for getting me started on Story Club. Your brilliance and humanity will continue to illuminate whatever you do and bless all lucky enough to come into contact with you. Happy trails, brother!

This took me right back to those early calls, when everything felt wide open and a little improvised. You were incredibly generous with writers. And it made such a difference.

Excited to see what you do next, Dan.

Congratulations and thank you for all you have built and all you will build in the future. I know firsthand what it is to build something and then have to leave it in the service of exchanging breath for depth. Wishing you all the best.

I’m relatively new to Substack. I really enjoy reading it. Thanks for building such a great foundation for all creators, writers and artists. I’m sure you’ll fare well in your next adventure.

The most profound statement I've heard lately is this: "Small is worthy." We don't all have to be forever bigger, wider, more. Do your thing. Do it well. Keep doing it.

Wow, this is a blow. You were so great to us. Not that the robots who answer my questions now aren’t great too. We will miss you! Good luck.

The Jerry Maguire parallel works really well here. "Fewer clients, more attention" is both a business model and a philosophy, and it's the kind of trade that most people in scaled-up roles quietly wish they could make.

Congrats, Dan! What an epic run. I'm so excited for you and what's next.

I had precisely the same feeling when I left my beloved little record store. The store was so successful that it acquired an existence and a flavor that could be continued by anyone. I became mostly insignificant, the work (the fun part) was finished.

My child had grown up and no longer needed me.

Thank you, Dan! I very much appreciate this and all you’ve done for me in helping me start American Crisis. Amplifier sounds like an exciting new chapter and exactly the right move. All the best!

May your new endeavor bring the success you achieved here. If you're looking for a solid Christian writer who writes for God, let me know. I'm just getting started here on Substack. God bless. ✝️💜
